Performance appraisal is as old as human civilization it self. Every age has its own methods for appraising corporate performance mostly either for developing performance standards or for best owing rewards in recognition of meritorious performance and at times even for dispensing punitive mesures when the actual performance fell short of expectation or simply for exercise of control.
