The Arid Zone which covers 1569.2 million ha of the world and has been spread in 2.86 lakh sq. km. of the Indian territory has always been the source of attraction for the scientists, Researchers, Planners and Policy makers because of its most peculiar biotic and natural conditions. An Annotated Bibliography covering the period of 50 years (1947-1997) has been compiled/edited by the arid zone scientists, having practical experience of working in the area for more than 20 years. The bibliography has primarily been divided in the following main themes.
