A sound mind in a sound body can be achieved only when general education and physical education go hand in hand in the educational institutions. Recognishing the importance of physical education, especially of games and sports, it has been made a component of education at all levels. But, its implementation is not upto the expectations of the committees and commissions as well as of the educational experts and experiences. Time has, now, come to impart physical education on a compulsory basis in every educationla institution.
