The emergence of the Rajputs on the political stage of Rajputana is an unique landmark in the annals of our history. Their resistance to several invasions inside and outside their regions depict their remarkable chivalry. The early Rajput administration has been well-knit in the eighteen chapters of this volume. The states under Mewar, Marwar, Jaipur and the minor states showed signs of survival with historic bravery and honour. We have made use of Tod's survey of Rajasthan in the text as well as in a separate appendix. Besides the growth of feudalism and the identity of religious growth were glaring phenomenon in this period.
