DESCRIPTION
The study of Sikh ideology, polity and social order in their inter-relationships, embodied in this book, may be looked upon as the first attempt of its kind. In a broadly historical approach, this book is divided into four parts, each consisting of a number of sections which contribute directly or indirectly to the theme under discussion. The depth imparted to the study arises essentially from detailed analysis of a number of original sources in Punjabi and Persian. The author brings his life-long experience of Sikh history and tradition to bear upon his presentation of a subject of great contemporary relevance. His treatment of the subject is unique for being both critical and sympathetic.
