ABOUT THE BOOK:
The Textbook of Balaroga is a text with simple illustrations and simple language. It has major collection of material scattered in olden classical texts. The contents are according to the new BAMS syllabus and the text is easy to understand. This book will reach and help undergraduate students for preparation of university examinations.
The book has explanations with relevant modern paediatrics subjects which are necessary. In addition to the CCIM syllabus some additional information regarding different drug formulations, instruments used in paediatrics, chapter on NICU, drugs used in paediatrics etc. are also included in the textbook.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Dr. Ravishankar Kulamarva, born in 1983 is coming from Kulamarva family of teachers and writers. He was hard working student during his study days of high school, pre university, BAMS and MD. He completed BAMS in 2006 from ALNRMAMC Koppa (RGUHS) Karnataka and MD Balaroga in 2010 from Alvas Ayurveda Medical College Mudbidre Dakshina Kannada (RGUHS) Karnataka. He published various research papers in International and National journals. He has served in MIAMS, Manipal and SDM College of Ayurveda, Udupi and also in the field of Neonatology. He is the author of the book "Handbook of Kashyapa Samhita" published by Chaukambha Orientalia Varanasi. Presently he is working as Professor in Department of Balaroga Prasanna College of Ayuvreda and Hospital Beltangadi Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. He is practicing in hometown as Ayurveda Pediatrician and doing well.

The book has explanations with relevant modern paediatrics subjects which are necessary. In addition to CCIM syllabus some additional information regarding different drug formulations, instruments used in paediatrics, chapter on NICU, drugs used in paediatrics etc are also included in the text.
Balaroga is a branch that needs more brightness and specialized practice. Speciality practice is the need of present era. The book will be helpful to all categories of students both in view of theoretical and practical aspects.

Koumarabhritya is an important branch of Ayurveda which had its heritage lost due to various reasons like loss of important texts. importance given to other system of medicine and lack of knowledge passed on to the succeeding generation. However it has gained its importance in the present era after many efforts by the present day physicians and academicians. In this aspect presenting the actual facts, traditional knowledge to the present students of Ayurveda is the need of the hour.
The book The Text Book Of Balaroga' by Dr. Ravishankar K, who is working as Professor, Dept of Balaroga, Prasanna College of Ayurveda and Hospital, DK, Karnataka will benefit the undergraduate students of Ayurveda in understanding the subject. The book is presented in a simple and efficient way as per the syllabus mentioned by CCIM. Having personally known the author from his college days, the hard work and dedication put him in bringing this book will certainly help the students gain an insight into the subject of Koumarabhritya.
