ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
British scholar Thomas William Rhys Davids (1843-1922) was an expert in the ancient Indian language Pali and served as Professor of Pali and Buddhist Literature at the University College, London from 1882 to 1904. Prof. Davids was also the Chairman of the Pali Text Society, Secretary and Librarian of the Royal Asiatic Society and a constant contributor to its publications. |
