FOREWORD:
My heartiest gratitude to all of you for your kind support for all the books written by me. This is our sixth publication in your hands. The book is written in accordance with your syllabus. Though it is mainly meant for Ayurvedic students and Teachers, it is also useful to every Medical graduate irrespective of the system of Medicine he studied. History especially for India can be considered as a noblest record of events. You cannot find even a single person mentioned in this book of Ayurvedic history who has left any bio data or personal information of his own to enable us to collect it as his history. All our forefathers have lived for Loka Sangraha - the universal welfare. They have never bothered for their name or fame. Still with the help of some clues from internal and external evidences some historians like Pandit Hemaraj Sarma, Hariprapannaji, Dr. Bhagawad Ram Gupta, Shri Das Gupta, Shri Jyothirmithraji, Pandit Priyavrata Sarma etc., have tried their best to gather the historical information of Ayurvedic scriptures and scholars and placed them before us. This book is a collection of all such scholars and I sincerely express my heartiest Dhanyavadas and Pranams to all of them.
Suggestions and criticisms are cordially invited from the readers and I assure them that I shall correct my mistakes and present the book in a better way in the next edition. |
