This twelfth volume of the People's Linguistic Survey of India attempts to document the languages of the State of Jammu & Kashmir. The book is divided into three parts - the first part covers the scheduled languages, Dogri and Kashmiri, the second part, the non-scheduled and minor languages and the third part is devoted to Sanskrit, Persian, Hindi and Urdu which have played an important role in the state and also influenced local languages.
