DESCRIPTION
This is Second and Revised Edition of the earlier version of the biography of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It carries the history of Tibetan Freedom struggle forward. It incorporates more details of support all around the world and, specifically from Western countries for Tibet. It marks a watershed event in the Dalai Lama relinquishing his temporal powers. It portrays Lobsang Sangay, the first Kalon Tripa, who has the democratic verdict to carry on Tibet challenge, bereft of the tutelage of the Dalai Lama sovereignty. Apart from narrating the dissentions from other Chinese citizens, it exposes the shame of China by cataloguing the self immolations by Tibetans that has failed to stir Chinese conscience. A dichotomy between the proclaimed official policy of Tibetan Government in Exile asking for genuine autonomy and the Tibetan youths demanding rangzen, independence, is succinctly sketched: with unabashed bias by the authors for the Torch-bearers of Rangzen whom they once again dedicate the book. In addition to being a treatise on temporal matters pertaining to modern history and politics of Tibet, it also covers the spiritual dimension of personage of the Dalai Lama by elucidating on Vajrayana Tantra. The reader will also find The Dalai Lama quest for reconciliation between Science and Spirituality by building Bridges in Consciousness studies with scientists. The book carries a Foreword by Lord Bhikhu Parekh.
