In these volumes you will find the entire collected writings of The Pacification of Suffering; zhi byed tradition of Padmapa Sangye.
The lineage of these teachings spread from the Indian master Kamalshila, also known as Padmapa Sangye (pha dam pa sangs gyas 544-1117) to Tibet. Of particular importance, here are four volumes of the Zhi-je tradition that spread to the upper pass of Tibet. Palgyi Dingri Langkor. These are thought to be the only copies to have survived. They are reproduced here along with their unique illustrations. We have also included the entire texts of the earlier, middling and later transmissions and thereby completing the Zhi-je texts; one of the famed 'Eight Great Chariots of the Practice Tradition.' sgrub brgyud shing rta chen po brgyad.
We have also added the entire collection of the Chod (gchod), or 'Cutting Through', practices of Machig Labron (ma gchig lab sgron, 1055-1149), long considered to be a branch of the Zhi-je tradition. This includes both root texts and auxiliary treaties. |
