This volume containing 20 articles as an interdisciplinary in nature presented in the National Seminar organized by Deptt. of Economics, Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, sponsored by ICSSR, New Delhi. This book consist four sections to provide a clear cut picture on various perspectives and issues for the development of Khadi and Village Industries in Socio-Economic Development of North-East States. The village industries and traditional unorganized industries constitute an important segment of the economies of the North-East States where 40 per cent people are living under BPL and more than 80 per cent in the rural belt making agriculture as the main occupation. Unemployment is a major problem in todays developing economies, particularly in N-E Region informal sector is an important segment to generate employment through village industries to make the best use of indigenous knowledge and the craftmanship of the artisans. Khadi and Village Industries (KVI), therefore, offers enormous prospects for increasing the opportunities for income and employment generation in this region.
