DESCRIPTION
Pakistan has been under military governance for the majority of its 56 years of existence. All five of the nations elected governments have been removed by the army, on each occasion with the stated or implicit support of the president. On two of these occasions another civilian government was installed in its place, and in the remaining three, military leaders seized power for themselves outright. A military dictatorship will be a terrible setback for the masses. It will push mass consciousness backwards and create illusions in bourgeois democracy yet again. The vicious cycle of different variants of capitalist rule will continue to ensnare the masses.
