Watershed Management has been recognized as one of the most important approach for integrated natural resources management particularly in rainfed areas. Watershed management not only deals with agriculture development of a place but is a very comprehensive and complex subject that includes engineering, social science, agronomy, soil science, horticulture, forestry, animal sciences and other relevant subjects in such a synchronized way that a holistic approach is evolved which when applied in a participatory mode will result in overall development of the watershed. Since, a number of subjects are involved encompassing a very large number of terminologies from these subjects which are frequently used during execution of watershed in fields, it is difficult for individuals for correctly interpret the terms and their meanings. To cater the needs of vast majority of people working in watershed to meet their day to day requirements related to terminologies used with their correct meanings in watershed management selective prominent terminologies are collected and presented in this book. The present book will prove beneficial to a large number of field functionaries involved in execution of watershed such as state government departments, NGOs, students, scientists, forest departments and other agencies, they often need these terms for their practical purposes to interpret various terms by their correct meanings.
