Extensive research has been carried out by the Indian and Foreign scholars on various aspects of medieval Indian History. Much new light has been thrown on existing knowledge on the subject. In a few cases vital gaps have been filled up. Therefore the need for yet another set of volumes on the subject.
These volumes do not necessarily constitutes the history of whole of medieval India. These topics have been designed and selected to meet the need and budge of the reader for macro study of the subject. Attempt is also being made to produce much larger account and micro aspects of the history of medieval period which will not only cover the subject chronologically but also thematically.
This seven volumes set on the Medieval Indian History has been prepared in accordance with the course contents of various universities for the benefit of students and teachers. Due care has been exercised to make the subject student-friendly.
Out objective is to stear clear of the ideological basis and to provide to our readers different view points to enable them to examine and understand the subject in appropriate perspectives covering early medieval India history, history of Sultanate period, the cultural aspect of medieval history and medieval Indian art and architecture. |
