Agriculture is a way of life for more than sixty per cent of India's population. The cultivation of land not only sustains their livelihood but also provides a social milieu for their day-to-day living. Some productivity en-hancement came through the use of hybrids in corn, sorghum and millet although the area under cultivation of these crops has steadily decreased in the last decade.
