Our world is on the brink of destruction and if we don’t act now, we would be committing global suicide. Pollution has been around for a long time in fact for as long as humans have been around. Combined with the ever-rising population and ever-increasing consumption, pollution has become a threat to the fragile life-support systems of the earth. The effects of pollution on our biosphere are increasing tremendously. Unless checked, they could make the whole planet uninhabitable.
The present book “Environmental Pollution” is an effort to create awareness that problem of pollution cannot be solved without proper understanding of their causes and effects on environment, human health ad other organisms. The degradation of environment resources -- water, air, land etc. is taking a serious turn with each passing day. We have to devise ways and means to cope up with our environment, resource utilization and ecosystem. Proper enforcement of regulatory measures is required to sustain the diminishing resources and to meet the growing needs of the people. |
