DESCRIPTION
Ancient literature is singularly deficient in history. It does not mean that India's past is barren of deeds, worthy of remembrance. Al Beruni rightly remarks, "THe Hindus do not pay much attention to the historical order of things. They are very careless relating the chronological succession of things and when they are pressed for information, they are at a loss not blowing what to say. They invariably take to tale telling". The students of history have to face serious difficulties in collecting information regarding the ancient history of India.
