DESCRIPTION
Studies of plant development are the primary focus of long term research in our laboratory. Our aim is to identify the genes governing decisive steps in cell differentiation, and the subsequent characterisation of the regulation of the genes. The use of both classic and somatic cell genetics (Gene transfer, T-DNA gene tagging, mutagenesis and map-based cloning) in conjunction with approaches based on biochemistry, cytology and in vitro culture, have enable us to analyse essential plant functions. We participate extensively in the development of generic methodologies for the analysis of the plant genome and the dynamics of gene expression. This contribution forms the primary research interest of certain research teams working on projects using the model species Arabidopsis Thaliaha.
