It has been universally agreed upon that Arogyam (Positive Health) is the only measure to procure Caturvidhi-Purusarthas, which incorporate entire worldly and heavenly achievements in life. Efforts are being made by almost all the Health Organisations, at both the National & International levels, to achieve the Positive Health for all, particularly applying medicinal & non-medicinal measures. Out of these two approaches, the latter one is the safest and easily practicable as per suit of the individuals, without affecting the economy of the country. The systems of medicine prevalent in each continent of the world, do claim to have achieved the success at this end, but the measures advocated by Ayurveda, in this direction, are highly appreciable, easily applicable and unparallel in delivering the desired success of positive health for all.
The present effort, in the form of Positive Health through Ayurveda, gives a detail account of almost all the available measures, which can be well adopted by individual in particular and society at large, for achieving and maintenance of disease free state, not only at the level of the mind and body, but also at the level of soul - a state of embodied consciousness.
The text has been exclusively devoted to daily routines, seasonal regimen, schedules of Upavasa or fasting, right conduct of life principles and significance of Rasayanas. Besides these general measures, a chapter has also been dedicated for the routines of women, particularly during their puberty and pregnancy. Instead of propagetting the means for positive health, the volume will also serve the purpose of reference for both the under-graduate and post-graduate students. |
