The book offers a glimpse of the political, social, cultural and economic conditions prevailing in the Ancient Kashmir. It highlights the rise and fall of various Hindu rulers and dynasties during the period under study. The book presents an account of the arrival of Islam through Muslim traders in the beginning of the 8th century A.D. about a hundred years after Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) migration from Makkah to Madina. Based on different sources, the author draws sketches of Buddhist and Hindu rulers of the pre-Islamic period. The book is the result of the author’s long-drawn study in different areas of the history of Kashmir.
