This work presents a study of the Zomis' traditional costumes and crafts which are primarily a category of material culture of a people inhabiting the frontier areas of South East Asia and South Asia, It is in general a very important fact to furnish information about the region's development as it plays an important role in the social, economic and religious life of the people. It also reveals the ecological relationship and environmental influences in their technologies. This study as a whole has a Holistic approach to culture, tracing their genesis and course of development in the past, their present which are the most important aspects of the history of the people. With the influence of western culture, these indigenous cultures will one day be lost from this world. Efforts should be made that their traditional artistic craftsmanship and their ideology, which has all along been so much of an integral part of their life and culture, should not be allowed to wither away due to any modernizing effect on their culture.
