Saints, sages, seers, mystics and savants belong to all religions from ancient times. The Saints of India i.e. Adi Shankra Charya, Valmiki, Tulsi Das, Kabir Das, Ravidas, Parmahans Ram Krishen, Vivekananda, Yoga Nand, Sai Baba, Satya Sai Baba, Mahesh Yogi, Ram Tirath, Asa Ramji etc., preached the essential tenets of the Vedas, Upanishads, Purans and Gita. Their aim has been to propagate spirituality in order to make the Humanity God-fearing and noble and also, the world as a heaven, in this age of stark-materialism.
The Saints of Kashmir from the the time of Kashyap Rishi-the Patron Saint of Kashmir-have also done the same. But, they have followed and preached the doctrine of Shaivism (Trika), i.e. Vassu Gupta, Somananda, Bata Kalata, Utpala Deva, Abhinava Gupta, Lalleshori, Kalhan, of the ancient time and Swami Ram, Govind Koul, Vidya Dhar, Narayan Koul, Laxman Ji, Kailash Nath Kalla, Nath Kak, Nila Kanth, Saligram Ji, Kukiloo, Vasu Dev and Shakti Ji etc. of the modern time.
It behooves us all to follow their foot-steps in order to face and surmount the challenges, miseries and tensions of modern life. |
