Most of the contemporary post-colonial literature today comprises of social and political writings of the countries once colonized by the Europeans, like India, Africa, Pakistan, etc. and from the Settler colonies like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc. History, race, gender, language, identity, migration, etc. remain the main concern of the post-colonial discourse.
The present work is the study of women writes of 'First Nation' people of North America particularly those located in Canada. This work looks at the position/status of the 'First Nation' people in the contemporary White dominated Canada and Traces the political and literary history of the Natives. It also shows how the writings of the indigenous people are political in nature, wherein they interrogate the exploitative practices of the Whites and also express the truth of their own experience and existence.
