World Trade Organization (WTO) completed its first decade of existence in 2005. Originally conceiued as an institution for creating an uniform code of conduct amöng its member-countries, WTO is to facilitate and promote the quantity and quality of international trade with the belief that trade is the engine of growth. It has also accelerated the pace of globaüzation throughout the world in terms of increasing voiurne of world trade. The neo-übera! ideas of free trade have swept the world, where the WTO has acted as the main vehicle in this process.
After its first ten years it is now high time to have»a look at the world economies and specially the developing ones to access the gains and losses obtained due to the WTO operations. |
