DESCRIPTION
An outcome of a UGC sponsored national conference; this book is a compendium of over 35 analytical and review papers dealing with status, problems, constraints, and challenges of development of women education in India. It includes many papers which focus on the nexus between educational development of women and their empowerment and there are others which examine the gender inequality in the field of education, making use of primary/secondary data. Emerging issues and possible measures for development of women education have also been discussed in some of the papers. As majority of the contributors are from the Orissa state of the country, many of the papers in this volume are regional level studies in the context of the said state.
