The book deals with the Indian Doctrine of No First Use (NFU) of nuclear weapons enunciated, first by Atal Behari Vajpayee-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in 1999 and later adhered by the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. The book traces the origin, growth and development of NFU as a Doctrine first in the United States, which was later followed by Mao's China in 1964 after it went nuclear. India has followed in Chinese footsteps. |
