Linguistics, the science of languages, is a fascinating area of knowledge which pursues knowledge about the phenomenon of human language for its own sake. Bringing within its purview such concept as phonetics, semantics, phonology, morphology and lexicology of languages, linguistics is an attempt to delineate the creation of languages, and understand the links, similarities and differences between them. As literature is a significant reflection of what constitutes a language and makes it evolve, it becomes imperative for students of linguistics to consider the relevance of literary terms. The book concentrates its focus on exploring literary terms in linguistics. It is a conscientious effort to familiarise the readers with not just a mere dictionary, but also foster within them an understanding of the development, changes and uses of literary terminology. It also underlines current trends and developments in linguistics, all of which constitute what we call literary terminology.
