DESCRIPTION
Rural areas play an important role in the developent of Indian Economy as majority of the Indian population lives in these areas. The Central and State Governments have started various programmes for the development of infrastructure facilities in the rural areas and for the improvement of living conditions of the people residensing in these areas. This book is an attempt to highlight the silent features of the various schemes launched by the state government of Himachal Pradesh in Tribal Areas. These/programmes have been describes in detail along with the administrative machinary of rural development department in the state. The data was collected for the beneficiaries of these schemes from three tribal districts of the state, i.e. Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, and have been analysed in this book. The alalysis includes the socio economic profile of the beneficiaries of the tribal areas, impact of these schemes in the development of rural areas, impact of these schemes in the development of rural areas, and the problem faced in the implimentation of these schemes or pragrammes.
