The book on Trees and Shrubs of Haryana is a comprehensive taxonomic account of more than 370 woody taxa including trees. The book provides complete information on botanical names, local names, (if any), description, flowering and fruiting time, distribution in the state and notes on economic and/or medicinal uses etc. Selected specimens including those of the author himself are also provided at the end of a number of taxa.
The book is supplemented with more than 40 illustrations (line drawings) and 27 photographs for providing assistance in identification of taxa. Keys to the families genera and species are also given to provide the lead for correct identification of a taxa even to amateur taxonomists and foresters in the field. The book will prove to be a useful field guide for all forest loving people, naturalists and field taxonomists and also to all those who are interested in the study of woody taxa.
