DESCRIPTION
Environmental sociology assumes a significant position in studying the divergence and conflict with nature and the causes and extent of environmental problems among the diverse actors involved. The subject matter of environmental sociology is, in a sence, straightforward, consisting of social aspects of environmental problems and environmental issues. This notion, however, obscures the fact that there are two general categories of environmentally related phenomenon that need to be accounted for by environmental sociological theories.
