DESCRIPTION
It is satisfying that in the post-Independence era interest has increased in the methods involving instructional materials and their related technologies. In the past, most audiovisual materials were designed as teaching aids. They were used for introducing or summarizing an instructional unit. However, recent psychological and equal research on programmed materials has focused attention on educational technology as more inclusive tool. Now almost all the concepts are being taught with tapes in language laboratories, programmed instruction films, and other materials. Educational Technology as discussed in the book refers to the use of the instructional methods as they are integrated into the total instructional system. The objective of this book is to provide a basis for understanding the problems and promises of educational technology. The major areas dealt with are the following. Teaching-Theoretical Background-Instructional Objective, Models of Teaching-Teaching Devices, Teaching Aids-Audiovisual-Projected-Non-projected-Communication Technology, Teacher-Preparation-Micro-Teaching-Simulated Teaching-Programmed Learning.
