"Indian Economic Development: Globalisation, Transformation, Equity, Crime and Economic Thinking" is a collection of Seven Presidential address delivered at annual Conference of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) during 1997-2003 respectively at Hyderabad, Banglore, Amritsar, Jammu, Vellore, Thiruvananthapuram and Kolhapur. While all the addresses centre around the focal theme of Indian economic development, they are also unique in their emphasis on some particular aspect like equity, wage goods, crime, globalistion, transformation, economic thinking etc. These addresses were delivered respectively by Dr. D.S. Awasti (Erosion of Equity and Social Justice in Indian Economic Development), Dr. G.S. Monga (Benevolent reforms - Waiting for wage goods), Prof. Ajit Kumar sinha (Organised crime and political economy of development: The Indian Panorama), Prof. G.S. Bhalla (Political Economy of Indian development in the 20th Century: India's road to freedom and growth), Prof. C.T. Kurien (Economic Transformation: A Micro Global perspective) and Prof. Raj kumar sen (Globalisation and Indian economic thinking in the past and their relevance in the present and future). This volume is the seventh in the series of volume containing IEA presidential addresses since 1917. |
