Samkhya is one of the oldest systems of Indian Philosophy and Kapila is the founder of this system. The Samkhyakarika of Isarakrsna is the most celebrated Samkhya text. The Samkhyakarika of Isvarkrsna, being the earliest available textbook on the Samkhya system, has attracted serious attention fom ancient and modern scholars and as a result, several commentaries, translations and studies on the work are available.
