DESCRIPTION
India is endowed with a great wealth of biological diversity in its forests, glaciers, rivers, reservoirs, lakes, coastal areas and wetlands but in the recent years, following massive anthropogenic development there has been rapid industrialization in the country, resulting in the degradation of the environment and loss of much biodiversity, consequent upon fragmentation of the habitat. There is an urgent need to conserve it, other wise posterity will not forgive us. The quality of environment has degraded by the population explosion which eventually lead to poverty. Effects are being made to have optimum use of the principles and technique of biotechnology and bioinformatics for the cause of human welfare. Thus, better understanding of inter relationship between the human beings and the biosphere can only be obtained by the documentation of the importance of zoology or animal science as a whole. In this book an attempt has been made to highlight the latest developmental issues so that the data presented here in can be profitably used for human welfare. This book will be very useful for the students, teachers and researchers in the field of animal sciences and environment.
