DESCRIPTION
The present monograph grew out of a major research study entitled and impact study on industrialization on selected SC households of Jagdishpur industrial area of Uttar Pradesh where there is around 30% concentration of scheduled casts population. The area is industrially developed and the process of development started in early 1980s. The area also falls under the constituency of late prime ministers. It includes some parts of Rae Bareli and Sultanpur districts. The major objective of the study of was to examine the development gap between scheduled casts and non-scheduled casts in command and control area of the region. For this purpose the study examined the nature and magnitude of industrialization, percolation of benefits of industrialization, social and regional heterogeneity in percolation of benefits among women absorption of SC workforce, increase in working opportunity of SC women, effects on migration and changes in living condition in post industrialization period.
