A Woman has to face double bondage - at physical and social level under man and at mental level under her own psyche created by socio-cultural exploitation by man and passed on from generation to generation. The novel is a weaving of many stories depicting different aspects of social and family life that give rise to women's bindings. sometime her livelihood, sometime love for children, sometimes her passion. The author tries to bring into fore the agony of her women under bindings but at some places her woman seems to be relishing this agony. This may probably be because the author is a women with her own bindings.
