This book is about the topic known as the Raijmel in Assam. It was a system of judicature having mass publication participation. Whenever there was any lapse in social behaviour leading to either breach of previlage or an ommission or commission of the established norms, there was a mel or Raijmel, according to the dimension of the problem, summoned for the redress of the matter.
