DESCRIPTION
Keeping good health and provide basic medical help to children is very important part of any home science programme. Probably after food, nursing is very important. The aim of nursing is to provide holistic patient care and, in order to achieve this, the nurse must understand the patient or client and his perception of health and ill health. This must be considered in relation to the point on the health-illness continuum at which the health problem has arisen. Nursing assessment is carried out at the beginning of the nurse-patient relationship and thereafter at appropriate intervals. This should identify actual and potential problems related to the circumstances that brought the patient or client into the health-care system. Care planning should then take into account management of these problems in an appropriate order of priority. Life-threatening situations must be resolved first and then other concerns according to their short or long-term significance.
