The aim of this volume is to relate panaromic view of history of Muslim Rule in Medieval India. Period commences when the long regin of Hindu States had broken at the Slave Dynasty, Iltutmish, Balban, Ala-ud-din Khilji, Muhammad Bin Tughlaq, Foriz Tugluq, Sayyid Dynasty. Delhi Sultanate controlled for two centuries the north of country and at times Central India. The rule was essentially military, but they were open to cultural influence, Hindus were largely employed in services. They settled in the country, Delhi as their capital city. Socio-economic condition, administration, their love for art, architecture, music and poetry is also discussed. The volume has been weaved into twenty-one comprehensive chapters on Muslim rule in Medieval India.
