The Encyclopaedia on Hindu Civilization, Customs and Traditions has been weaved into four volumes with comprehesive contents.
The volume one has deep bearing on Indus valley civilisation, the way of life of Aryans, the Vedic thoughts, the systems of philosophy and several religious rituals.
The volume two has been dealth with thirteen chapters, their main thrust is on scope and nature of Hindu political literature, origin o fkingship, Hindu political thought, concept of law and early Hindu view, Arthasastra of Kautilya, religion and politics, the Brahmanic system, the ornaments worn by Hindus, the funeral ceremonies of Brahmans, the religious doctrine, Hindu temples and principal gods of the Hindus.
The Volume three, contains nine chapters and their main thrust is on general view of society in India, poverty of the Hindus, the different Hindus sects, the Hindu priests, four states of Brahmanical ife, marriage among Brahmans, and Brahmanical fasts.
The volume four, has bearing on Hindu women and their reights. Its main thrust is on the caste system, law of partition, law of succession, women's property and exclusion from inheritance. |
