With the introduction of new economic policy and in the wake of privatization and globalisation, co-operative sector can be a mid-way weapon for accelerating the tempo of economic development in India. Based upon both primary and secondary sources of data, the present study focuses light on the working of co-operatives at the international level, nationl level and at the regional level. The trend of growth of cooperatives have been discussed at length.
It is hoped that the study will be immensely helpful to the planners, policy makers, retear thers and rural administrators for policy formulation.
