This book attempts to study the situation of a cross-section of elderly women in a fast changing urban neighbourhood, with special reference to delhi. Examining the demographic status and socio-economic background of aged women, it ascertains the level of social adjustment among them, and takes stock their health status in relation to their adjustment in the family and neighbourhood. Further examining the linkage between their social adjustment and their acceptance by family and neighbourhood, the book also analyses social adjustment among aged women in terms of their sense of security. The relation between social adjustment and life satisfaction among them has been found out as well.
