DESCRIPTION |
|
Silent Warefare is an attempt to spread the awareness of Nuclear, Chemical, Biological (Weapons of Mass Destruction or WMD) disasters among the general public and government officials, so that appropriate measures are taken to prepare for the mitigation of such disasters. The book begins by depicting a chemical disaster inj New Delhi in May 2006. In the subsequent chapters in analyses the nuances of WMD disasters and suggests measures for their mitigation through swift, coordinated, professional approach, integrating the resources of the local population, police, military, fire department, medical authorities, civil defence, NGOs, media and last but not the least, the District Administration who would form the epicenter for the command, control and decision making. Although this book has been written in an India-Centric Perspective, the preparation and mitigation techniques could be considered for adoption by any country faced with the menace of WMD threats. |
