This book is a maiden attempt to evaluate various tribal development scheme imple-mented for the primitive tribes of West Bengal. It explores multiple constraints for which success remained partial in spite of refinement of our tribal development policies in successive Five Year Plans during the post-independence period. Finally, it provides some context and specific suggestions which may pave the way for the formulation of a realistic action plan for our tribal brethren.
