DESCRIPTION
Orissa has produced a galaxy of front ranking researchers who can be compared for their outstanding contributions to the field of history particularly to regional history with any other region of India. They have enriched the historical writings on Orissa. This volume aims to assess critically their contributions to Orissan historiography. Nine out of thirteen articles included in it focus on this objective. However, two articles by D.B. Mishra and H.H. Panda are included for fresh debate and suggestion and two by L.N. Mishra and L.B. Mohapatra are on historiography. The contributors have taken up the biographical mode in their presentation. The volume provides an insight into several aspects of Orissan historiography.
