DESCRIPTION
The book traces the origin and pace of development of philosophy in the Indian politics since the nineteenth century through the present time. It analyses the inter-relation and conflict between the two trends of philosophy in the operation of the Indian politics. It shows the rationalist ideal became a nascent phenomenon but idealist philosophy grew to overwhelm the modern rationalist thought in politcs over time. It further emphasizers the subjectivism prevailed upon political life of Indian People. Objective Idealism, idea of social democracy and class struggle also made some progress in the country. It had relationship with the rationality in the life of the native people and necessarily prepared the ground for exploring the objective reality of the existing order of the Indian society. Historically, this can be viewed as the precursor of advance of militant materialism in the Indian society and politics.
