In the biological treatment system, activities related environmental pollution control is solely performed by the living entities - called microbes. These microbes may be either bacteria, fungi, actinomycetes and/or algae, depending upon the place of reaction and nature of the wastewater i.e. whether biodegradable and/or absence of the oxygen, microflora in the treatmentvary considerable.
