Laghudharmaprakasika satisfies the characterstics of a Smrti or Dharma Sastra. In twelve chapters it deals with the origin of the four stages of life, the sixteen customery rites of purification the duties of a king, the duties of women and allied topics. The work has drawn upon earlier works like Manusmrti and Yajnavalkyasmriti.
