Islam, with its very advent caused a revolution, the world over. Soon, the half of the (then known) world was under the green flag. India, as an empire was part of it. However, in this Subcontinent, the Muslim power flourished rather independently. India barring a breifperiod-Was never a part of the caliphate. Here, Turks first and Mughals later established their sovereign empires and in a very short span, Delhi became one of the strongest centers of power in the East.
